Effective written communication
Artifact one: the story of the rwandan genocide
In global studies I completed the story of the Rwandan genocide. In this story we had to write about someone who was either a bystander, victim, or perpetrator during the Rwandan genocide to effectively explain what occurred. To complete this story I applied the skill effective written communication. Effective written communication is to communicate effectively to get a point across and relay information clearly. I used effective written communication by clearly explaining the events of the Rwandan genocide in a story format. I made sure to include all true facts about what occurred before, during, and after it. The information presented in my paper is easy to point out and understand. People who read it will be able to know what the main idea of the story is and how horrid the events of the genocide were. I stated in my paper events that will affect readers in a way that they can understand how cruel some humans can be. I also clearly stated a point about how so many people were affected during the genocide and how dramatically their lives changed because of it. In the future I could explain my facts in more detail to allow readers to better understand it. By providing more examples to better explain every fact stated in the paper. Which will allow readers to clearly learn and remember the information.
artifact two: house in spanish
In Spanish I had to answer a series of questions about my house and answer with the new vocabulary we learned. While writing out my answers I used the skill effective written communication. Effective written communication is to communicate effectively to get a point across and relay information clearly. I used this skill while writing out my answers in Spanish by using new vocabulary. I made sure to write every word correctly and spell it correctly. I also made sure to use different words that I don’t use very often to expand my Spanish vocabulary. I wrote clearly and got to the point in all my answers to make them easily understandable. I also wrote in complete sentences while restating the questions to answer them fully. If someone reads my answers they would be able to know what my house is like and understand what I wrote. In the future I could write more to further answer the questions to give full descriptions. I could also make my points more clear by restating the whole question so readers can understand what I am writing. Lastly I could make sure I use correct grammar in my responses so they are easy to follow.
artifact three: this i believe essay
In English I had to write an essay about something that I believe. I had to explain in the paper what it is that I believe and when I realized that belief in my life. In the essay I wrote about how I believe in dogs and how I realized it during my trip to the pet store. To write this essay I had to use the skill effective written communication. Effective written communication is to communicate effectively to get a point across and relay information clearly. I used this skill throughout the process of writing my paper to make sure those who would be reading it could understand what my point of writing it was and why. When I explained my moment of realization I made sure to explain every detail of that time, so the reader could see it as if it were happening in the moment. I also made sure that I did not get off track with the main idea of my paper so the people could easily understand my main ideas and points without getting sidetracked. Lastly, I reread my paper multiple times to makes corrections in my punctuation and grammar so it all made sense in the correct format. In the future I could have my peers read my paper before I turn it in to get ideas of how I can improve my paper. I can also take time to think of what I can write about so I am positive in explaining every detail by relating it to my life.
artifcat four: english poem
In English we were assigned to create an original poem with no other requirements, other than to use four or more literary devices. I wrote mine based on paw prints on the beach and used alliteration, metaphors, repetition, and rhyming. To write this poem I used the skill effective written communication. Effective written communication is to communicate effectively to get a point across and relay information clearly. I used this skill while writing my poem by having a clear meaning that I wanted to get across to the reader. I made sure to use descriptive words and flow all my thoughts together to paint a scene in the reader's head about what was going on. While reading my poem, it can make people think of different things, other than I intended. But poems allow people to see things in different ways and have their be many meanings, which I hope my poem displays based on my word choices. I improved on this skill from my last assignment by taking into account what people reading it may think. I also made sure to use words that made sense and displayed my point with a thought out meaning. Not only did I do this to meet the requirements, but to make my poem fun and interesting. In the future I can still work on my punctuation to make sure my grammar flows. So that it will make it easy to follow my writing and make it more organized.
